June 21 – July 7, 2019

The Mess Hall in the Armoury
206 Main St., Picton, Ontario

May 3, 2019 – Nominations are now open for the 2019 Community Arts Builder Award. Last year, the Prince Edward County Arts Council and Art in the County launched The Community Arts Builder Award as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Art in the County. The 2018 recipients were Alice and Peter Mennacher of Blizzmax Gallery. We are pleased to announce that this award is back for 2019. Sponsored by Sam Simone, Monica Klingenberg and Laurie Gruer of Chestnut Park Real Estate Limited Brokerage, the award recognizes an individual who has enriched community life in the County through the arts. The award includes a $250 monetary gift and the winner will be announced at opening night ceremonies of Art in The County on June 20, 2019. Nominations must be submitted by June 7th, 2019. Submissions may be submitted on-line or can be mailed directly to the PEC Arts Council.

April 25, 2019 – Moving up in the world! Art in the County will inaugurate The Mess Hall- a new multi-purpose event space on the street-level of The Armoury. The space will be easily accessible by the front doors at 206 Main Street, Picton. Those of you who attended last year will remember that the show was also held at The Armoury – in a newly-renovated lower-level hall.

February 25, 2019 – We are pleased to announce a new award for 2019. The Maison Depoivre Award will be presented by Maison Depoivre to an artist whose work demonstrates risk-taking and originality, technical skill and is thought-provoking. The recipient of the award will be invited to display her/his work at Maison Depoivre for the rest of the 2019 season once Art in the County closes its doors at the beginning of July. A complete wall will be dedicated to the award recipient until mid-October 2019 (depending on the artwork sizes, it could mean 4 to 6 artworks). The curators of Maison Depoivre will select 3 finalists from the artists presenting work at Art in the County. The three AITC jurors will determine the award recipient from the 3 finalists.
