About the Artist:

One of the most wonderful gifts I ever received was a wooden paint box filled with oil paints and how to paint booklets. Unfortunately, it took me over 20 years to finally find the time to enroll in art workshops and study with many outstanding artists in Toronto, Unionville, Ottawa, and The Laurentians to begin my artful journey.

Living in the beautiful island community of Prince Edward County, I am fortunate to be inspired daily to paint the birch groves, sand dunes, vineyards, bountiful gardens and pristine waterways that surround me. My work is bold, bright, colourful and full of texture with strong brushstrokes. I want the viewer to feel excited, happy… to see and feel the love I have for my County…. for my country. To me there is nothing more breathtaking than the Canadian landscape.

I marked my debut as a juried artist in 1999 in Art in the County, and was honoured to receive a Jurors’ Choice Award in 2009 for my pastel work Poppy Passion. I am a founding member of Arts on Main Gallery in Picton, and a member of the Prince Edward County Arts Council. I exhibit my work at Sidestreet Gallery, The Merrill Inn, The Local Store, and Portabella Restaurant. I also curate the art exhibit at The Restaurant at Waupoos Estates Winery.

As music fills my heart and mind, painting fills my soul.
