After a long and happy teaching career, I moved to the County thirteen years ago and joined the many artists who are inspired by the breathtaking sunsets and clouds and hundreds of shades of green that exist here. For a time, I worked with a wonderful group of artists who ran the cooperative Partnershop gallery. As a self-taught painter, my work often explores the lovely tension between light and shadow. In Traverse Point: High Summer there is also a sense of history and loss standing tall against the vibrancy of summer.
