County Afternoon by Jo-Anne Finegan Soft pastels, 5 " x 7", framed
Jo-Anne Finegan is a child psychologist trying to wrap up her practice in Toronto so she can devote more time to art in Prince Edward County. She has worked in soft pastels and has signature status in Pastel Artists Canada. She has exhibited at the Pastel Artists Canada Purely Pastel show in Vancouver (2018), Colborne Art Gallery (2019), Art in the County (2019), and Pastel Artists Canada juried online exhibit (2018, 2019, 2020).
Finegan's intention is to work within the transitional areas between what nature provides and the feeling or mood it evokes, and emotional atmosphere it creates. To guide her closer to her painting intentions, she draws inspiration from the works of Homer, Innes, Hopper, and Kahn as well as contemporary pastel artists such as Lyn Asselta.
