Jurors' Choice Award Winner À Deux by Anne-Sophie Falconer Casted Concreten, 35" H x 20" W x 10" D
Juror Comment: The idea that concrete and human concerns interact is a sheer contradiction. The artist used the material in a very effective manner, creating two bust, interacting in an ambiguous space that suggest mystery, contemplation and anticipation.
This award is sponsored by Family Dentistry at Picton.
Upon completing a Master’s Degree in Business in France, her home
country, Anne-Sophie Falconer moved to Canada where she got the chance
to nurture a hidden creative side: first in theatre, then in fabric
design, and now, sculpting. With the human heart and body as her main
focus, she is continuously learning to sculpt raw emotion and to let the
viewer enter the sculpture with their own interpretation.
