Call for Entry
ART IN THE COUNTY (AITC) is open only to artists who are residents or ratepayers of Prince Edward County AND members of the Prince Edward County Arts Council. Organizers of the 23rd Annual ART IN THE COUNTY Exhibition and Sale invite Prince Edward County artists to enter up to two pieces in any medium. Original works of art must have been created since the previous year’s AITC exhibition.
Three Canadian art professionals are solely responsible for jurying the exhibition’s content, as well as selecting the five Jurors’ Choice and five Honourable Mention award winners. The AITC organizing committee are delighted to announce that Adam Welch, Associate Curator, Canadian Art, National Gallery of Canada, (Ottawa, ON); Neville Smith, Fellow, Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, (Ottawa, ON) and Su Sheedy, Artist, (Kingston, ON) will serve as this year’s jurors.
In addition, organizers are delighted that renowned Canadian artist and sculptor, Otto Donald Rogers (Milford, ON), will select a winner for the Otto Rogers Award of Excellence from the juried works in the show. The People’s Choice Award is determined by visitors’ ballots and is presented at the close of the exhibition.
Interested County artists are invited to pick up a copy of the Call for Entry from any of the Prince Edward County libraries, at Books & Company or the Prince Edward County Arts Council office at 289 Main St. (Picton), or download the entry form and mail or courier it long with their entry fee to the Prince Edward County Arts Council office by Friday, June 10th at 12:00 NOON. Artists are to deliver their entered works for the jurying process on Sunday, June 19th between 10 AM and 4 PM upstairs above Books & Company. Jurors will review all submissions, and artists will be notified on Monday, June 20th.
