2013 is a special year to us as it marks the 20th anniversary of Art in the County. This annual juried exhibition and sale provides a showcase of the finest works of art created by the artists and artisans of Prince Edward County. This year’s event will be celebrated upstairs at Books & Company, 289 Main Street, in Picton, Ontario, from June 27 to July 14.
All artworks on exhibition during Art in the County (AITC) have been selected by three Canadian art professionals whose mandate includes nominations for receipt of the five Jurors’ Choice Awards and the five Honorable Mention Awards. In recognition of AITC’s 20th anniversary, The Manley E. MacDonald Award for Excellence has been created in honour of this remarkable Canadian painter. On Art in the County’s opening night, the AITC exhibition of more than 100 pieces is unveiled and the names of the award winners are announced.
One more award remains, and that is the People’s Choice Award. Visitors are invited to cast their ballots during AITC’s three-week run. The winner being presented with the award at the end of the exhibition.
Art in the County is considered one of the finest juried art shows in Eastern Ontario. This highlight of Prince Edward County’s summer season attracts visitors throughout Ontario, as well as those from across Canada and from our American neighbours.
Come celebrate Art in the County’s 20th anniversary with us.
We look forward to welcoming you.
